What makes an individual powerful?

What makes an individual powerful is people skills, ambition, and the ability to persuade. An individual isn't going to gain any power if they don't have any of the qualities above. To gain power you need to have ambition, or will power to get what you want. You need to be able to talk to people easily and persuade them to support you. Having followers makes you powerful.

  1. I agree. I think people skills make someone powerful as well as persuasion. It made me realize sometimes power doesn't necessarily come from people that like you. However your'e probably not going to persuade people very easily if your'e drunk all the time!

  2. I like the thought of skills. But do you think there is a distinction of different kinds of powers such as good or bad power?

  3. Well you definitely need to be amitious to be powerful, and persuasive, that's how I get what I want. But people skills? Who needs people skills, I'll just have Macbeth kill anyone I don't want to deal with. That solves my problems.

  4. And I would imagine, that you, the drunken porter, use your sense of humor to persuade people. A sense of humor can be a powerful thing too!
